Effective leadership depends on working through others. But without a shared sense of ‘What is important’ effective delegation is impossible! We often spend out time talking in the solution space, do this or go there… What we need is to spend it in the principles space, we do this because… When the rubber meets the road, anyone with shared values could adapt to roadblocks as they find them. But allowing team members to drive, means you have to trust them. What would it take for you, as a leader, to trust your teams with those kinds of decisions?
